It's not a big deal for me.  Until 8.04, Ubuntu wouldn't work with my 
drives at all, and then voila! Magic!  Drives AND wired Internet 
worked.  Now with 8.10, wireless works and wired doesn't (with my 
machine)  I figure I'll just sit tight and wait until 8.2 comes out, 
then try again.  :-)  Plenty of distros to play with, in the meantime.
