Until 8.04, Ubuntu wouldn't work with my drives at all, and then voila! Magic! Drives AND wired Internet worked. Now with 8.10, wireless works and wired doesn't (with my machine) I figure I'll just sit tight and wait until 8.2 comes out, then try again. :-) Plenty of distros to play with, in the meantime.
