Yep...SEEKS and SET ORDER TO and SCAN WHILEs kick ass when optimizations
realized!  Anders Altberg (or perhaps wOOdy) said it best awhile
back--something kinda like you did--that xbase outperforms SQL in many
instances.  But don't tell anyone....it's a secret.  <eg>
