Or it could be the toss of data between servers all within the same
app.  I could set up my invoicing BizApp <middle tier> on it's own
server so at the end of the day I can process all orders shipped the
previous day on it's own box.  That may have been initiated from a web
page or a local client app??
that same box may do all the shipping through the day, afternoon till
the last truck arrives.  So the workload is balanced on the server an
it's resources are protected for just specific purposes.
