An extreme lobby group is rarely the independent gold-standard of ANYTHING.
The fact that you believe it is demonstrates just how blinkered you are. It
is Statistics 101 that you derive your raw data from valid sources and it is
ABSOLUTELY VERBOTEN to draw on processed and interpreted statistics from
places that are  biased or are lobby groups/activist groups. The fact that I
have to explain that is disappointing. The NRA's stats differ wildly from
other stat gathering places including govt. Now I wonder why that is because
of course the NRA is quite independent and would never seek to skew a figure
to prove a point...
