Thank you all for your input
I already have an alternative strategy in place, but it is also giving me
grief
I have a Gmail account in place for those clients who's blatting is blocked
by their ISP, and I use the following method (abbreviated)

**Spotted and adapted from http://fox.wikis.com/wc.dll?Wiki~CdoEmail~VFP
Local lcSchema, loConfig, loMsg, loError, lcErr
lcErr = ""
lcSchema = "http://schemas.microsoft.com/cdo/configuration/";
loConfig = Createobject("CDO.Configuration")
ETC

It bombs out with error "0x80040127"

I suspect it is an internal network condition that causes the error where
the port is blocked somehow
On monday I will ask their network man to assist

If any of you have more ideas, I'd really appreciate it.
