This illustrates a few things. 1. The sycophantic obsession of the media with his every movement. The media seems to especially like the theme of Obama swatting flies -- it was also how the NYT opened a story recently about tensions in Obama's economic brain trust, with Obama smashing a fly between Larry Summer's legs. Look out you flies! Obama gonna get ya! 2. The fact that he's a ruthless bully against small things (though he'd NEVER EVER want to be seen meddling in Iranian internal affairs, and Israel better give up half of Jerusalem as its capital to its enemies if it wants peace) 3. He's way too easily impressed with himself. He took delight in killing that bug and needed every observer's affirmation that it was "impressive". Yea, I know. I am thoroughly unable to enjoy even something as mundane as this. The man is shredding contract law here in the US like toilet paper, and running roughshod over our system of checks and balances by creating a system of unaccountable czars like no president before even tried. It's not guts but gall. He seems now to command and control the media, which fawns over even his mediocre performances, and has absolutely no compunction about doing whatever he can get away with, Constitution be damned. Now he wants to give the fed power to seize any business. http://bit.ly/18Uwz8 - - - Under the plan, expected to be released Wednesday, the government would have new powers to seize key companies -- such as insurance giant American International Group Inc. -- whose failure jeopardizes the financial system. Currently, the government's authority to seize companies is mostly limited to banks. - - - That's all government needs is a good sounding excuse, and good bye provisions in the constitution that entitle you to due process. It's quite unbelievable what's happening, and I have now little hope of peace or prosperity the rest of my adult life---I won't even mention what hardships my children will face.
