File servers for VFP tables that feed csv data for a report generator
process using Crystal and Excel... Internal connectivity only, other than
me receiving raw data for translation and populating the VFP tables. The
uploaded data is sent by client machine (via automation) to my ftp Server,
which is not VMware based (virtualization is not meant to handle all server
solutions). These virtual machines have a fairly light load on them other
than once per day where they have some heavy VFP translations that run.
Even though I do not have to do so, I plan to stagger the translation runs
between virtual machines on the same ESXi Server. The data traffic is run
against local hard drives (not networked hard drives), so there is little
LAN traffic. Only raw input data, and resultant .csv files are transferred
over the LAN and Internet connections. Just a bit different than what your
needs may be.
