Your data is "exposed" when you say that your data is accessible from the
web, your idea of a secure fashion and a hackers are probably a football
field apart.

Wrapping that request for data in a WebService is a good starting point
don't you think?

Don't you think that you should also open up UI so the salesman can pick the
customer from a list of his so he can get answers, instead of having them
query the "open web data" looking for by himself?

How do you change credentials for data access with your current code?  How
would you deal with rules from other vendors that you have a B2B
relationship and they state that PWs will expire every 4 weeks on the Tues
of that week.

This all gets screwy as we meander into this realm.
