I agree with you here...more and more UMPC devices are coming alive and 
practical it seems.

Disagree.  Users (still looking to run software from their 
desktop/laptop) will have NO problem or concern for installing an app as 
they've done for years.  imho

That's why I do like data accessible from the web (in a secure fashion, 
of course).

I also like the idea of databases accessible over the web so that other 
apps can be written to hook into them, whereas you can't do that with 
classic Foxpro design where the data is Foxpro tables and is local. 
Sure, you could do something with WestWind Web Connection, but I'd 
rather create apps that will run on these new mobile devices instead.
