That would be ViM, Vi iMproved !

Nearly no one actually uses vi now (written, btw, by Bill Joy who went
on to found SUN)

But the point Ricardo is making is still true: thanks to Open Source,
you could still choose to use vi if you wanted or needed to, you
didn't have to upgrade to whatever the vendor is still supporting.
