You need to study the issue a bit more carefully. In fact, the Federal
Reserve is a private corporation. It was created as a quasi-public central
banking system, but largely operates in its own little black box. You are
probably unaware that Congress has never audited the Fed since its inception
in 1913.

There is a movement afoot to audit the Fed, led by Rep. Ron Paul, with about
281 signatories---but it is being opposed by the Fed and many powerful
banking interests.

After last year's magnificent heist, there is no way in hell they're going
to allow the public to see their books without a fight.

They won't even report to whom they gave how much TARP money, and Congress
is strangely powerless to demand that information...?!

Yet they are asking for, and largely getting, nearly dictatorial power over
our financial sector, in response to the mess they actually created. It's
really eye opening when you start digging into the facts.
