You need to study the issue a bit more carefully. In fact, the Federal Reserve is a private corporation. It was created as a quasi-public central banking system, but largely operates in its own little black box. You are probably unaware that Congress has never audited the Fed since its inception in 1913. There is a movement afoot to audit the Fed, led by Rep. Ron Paul, with about 281 signatories---but it is being opposed by the Fed and many powerful banking interests. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audit_the_Fed After last year's magnificent heist, there is no way in hell they're going to allow the public to see their books without a fight. They won't even report to whom they gave how much TARP money, and Congress is strangely powerless to demand that information...?! Yet they are asking for, and largely getting, nearly dictatorial power over our financial sector, in response to the mess they actually created. It's really eye opening when you start digging into the facts. - Bob _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[email protected] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
