I am now into my 5th or 6th Blackberry model (and using AT&T as my carrier).
Each BB has had improvements and features that made it worth the upgrade.
My current model is the Bold, and it is a bit wider than my previous version
(Curve). The keyboard is a little wider = larger keys than my previous
models and easier typing. It renders web sites nicely, but still not as
well as my wife's iPhone. It supports 3G, Edge and WiFi, has a nice camera
and can take still photos or record audio only or audio-visual. It supports
an add-in RAM module up to 64Gb(!). I am using a 32Gb card, which is more
than enough for my needs.

My BB Bold runs longer on a battery than my wife's new iPhone (she has had
the 2 most recent models, they chew up battery power quickly, even after
upgrading to the latest firmware and setting her email updates to 30 minute
intervals. But, in fairness, the iPhone is a nice unit unto itself.

I have a client who got an iPhone 2 months ago, after using a BB Curve for a
year or so. He immediately got a BB Bold after seeing mine, and now uses
both phones. He finds keying in an email or text message much easier and
faster with the BB Bold as opposed to the iPhone. Both synch to Outlook
nicely. BUT... The Bold sync software requires Office XP or newer. I had
to (finally) upgrade my beloved Office 2000 (Oh, by the way...) to get the
Bold synch to work. I went to Office 2007, although I have XP and 2003 on
hand. I wanted the additional .pst file capacity (8Gb instead of 2Gb) and
the massively larger number of rows allowed in Excel - as well as native XML
read/write for files where clients have moved to Office 2007 and semd me
.xlsx and .docx files.

Anyway, iPhone and BB Bold are both nice. I have both on hand, and for
myself I prefer the BB. But you will not be disappointed with the iPhone as
long as you do not mind carrying a charger with you for mid-day use <g>...
