I use SSC all the time for a printer on which I installed a continuous ink 
system. Works well. It has one trick: you must allow each command to finish 
before starting the next one or it will hang the printer. Then it is a real 
hassle to reset it. I also have two different brands of hardware chip 
burners. They work well too but are meant for resetting refillable 
individual cartridges.
