Yes, I'm a big fan, always have been. New language features like
generics, attributes and real closures/lambda functions make it unique
for a native-compiling technology. Most such languages use big nanny
runtimes (JVM, CLR). Haskell, interestingly, excluded.

I enjoy coding in Delphi. One of my pet projects (read: stuff I do in
between projects, waking and sleeping) is a "Fox Pro meets Smalltalk"
app dev system that I"m working on in Delphi, actually. I'm also
working on a creative writing application in Delphi, that's mostly for
my own use and enjoyment.

You can do Office 2007 UI look feel out of the box with Delphi 2010 as
well. They used to be behind on that kind of thing back in the day.
Also, they use MS Build rather than their own proprietary/quirky build
system. Much more stable and familiar.
