I've always managed to keep my professional edition upgraded at ~$700, a new license is probably around $1200. :( As far as databases go, I have used a bunch of them successfully with it. Interbase SMP is actually quite affordable and works out of the box with Delphi, but you can connect to anything, and there are affordable adapters for Postgres and Mysql if you want to go the open source route with that. I've used it with Postgres a lot. The DataSnap technology that comes with the (much more expensive) enterprise version is very, very cool stuff. BTW, there is a free pascal version of Delphi called Lazarus that works directly with DBF files. But I don't think you'll get multi-touch/gesture support with that without doing some lower level coding yourself. I will look into that. http://www.lazarus.freepascal.org/ - Publius > > -- > Mike Babcock, MCP > MB Software Solutions, LLC > President, Chief Software Architect > http://mbsoftwaresolutions.com > http://fabmate.com > http://twitter.com/mbabcock16 > [excessive quoting removed by server] _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[email protected] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
