We are starting to think the same way about Avira Antivir. We really liked it 
until the recent updates. They must have
that guy that put UAC in Vista doing their user interface. Now there are a 
million popups. They require you to disable
the real time 'guard' in order to do some routine processes. There is no longer 
any way to automatically delete a virus,
or other automatic behavior. The stupid thing stops and requires you to make 
the same decision over and over. Warn me
once, ok, but warn me over and over about the same file is rediculous. There is 
an exclusion list, but it does not work.

We are moving everything to Avast now. I hope they don't do the 'feature creep' 
and screw it up.
