IIRC, it was a social media conference scheduled for July. They had
more than half of their attendees withdraw (the law was passed before the

Unfortunately, that's pretty much the same argument that was used
against the boycott of South Africa in the '80s. The idea of a boycott is to
"vote with your wallet", and if it hurts tourism, well, the politicos should
have seen that coming.
