Both languages compile down to the same Intermediate Language (IL) and both use the same .NET framework. I look at the problem from a resource perspective and from my experience it is easier to find C# resources and developers. I have also talked with several VB developers who wish they picked C# because VB developers don't get respect from Microsoft. The VB Community always seems to have some rumor going around that Microsoft wants to kill VB too despite reassurance from Microsoft that it is not true. Not sure I really want to live through that pain again, even if it is not true.
