Suddenlink encouraged me to put everything on a servers in their
business center package, which I know has high speed internet both ways,
but I wanted to run my own server from home, so I talked talked them
into giving me a static IP, (eg 66.76.180.236 I believe), which makes me
a node within their network.

I ran into problems a couple of time where Suddenlink block my web
server. They have programs that crawl their networks looking for guy
running web servers, etc off a regular plan. People running web server
usually should be in the business certer. Anyway, I finally go that all
straighten out. LOL I really enjoy running my own web server,
PostgreSQL database server, Postfix-dbmail smtp mail server with the
freedom of an in house setting.

I wonder if Suddenlink would host PostgreSQL in there business center.
I'll have to look into this more.

I just ran the Cnet test which gave me 2995.6 kbps, (eg about 3.0 megs
per second).

LelandJ
