Understandable. I have been there and done that too and completely
understand the frustration involved. You also were not obligated to update
with each change and could stick with what works for you as well.

OTOH, because I worked with the controls I was able to provide feedback to
Emerson and he was kind enough to work with my enhancement requests and bug
reports to improve the controls. It is not always fun to be on the cutting
edge, but the opportunity to contribute to the project in that manner was
quite rewarding. Emerson was quite responsive to my emails. He loves knowing
people are using the controls and considers all the feedback. He is also
open to code suggestions and contributions to the project. And he is not
alone, most of the project managers are open to help offered.

At this point most of the Themed Controls are solid and probably won't
change all that much from an implementation perspective. The ones in earlier
stages (like the Ribbon control) are documented as being in that state.

Rick
I don't want to undermine all the hard work, but for me I didn't think I had
a need. I will give them another look see sometime.
The other problem is they are, Or were still beta when I tried and I didn't
fancy having to recode if something changed. I do however thing they were
2003 looking. Not that its bad but now I would look for 2007 or 2010 office
look.

There are several controls in the Themed Controls you might have overlooked
or did not mention:
- OutlookNavBar
- ExplorerBar
- Toolbox
- ZoomNavBar
- Buttons
- RibbonControl (still under development)
