Hi Michael, Thank you for your kind attention. I knew you would understand. If you had been injured in a car accident in Florida in the early 2000s, as I was, or perhaps even now your insurance, and the insurance of the other driver would only pay whatever they cared to pay (pretty close to nothing) and for the rest you get bupkis. If you have IRAs, as I did, and bank accounts, as I did and personal property, as I did it would all go to satisfy the medical expenses - leaving you without anything to live on except what you could earn in your now injured condition. Heaven help you if all the work available at the time was grunt work. You could sue, as I did, but the rules of procedure would require you to sue not the insurance company, but the near-indigent driver. No mention could be made to the jury that the driver was fronting for the insurance companies. Whiny liberals, such as I, think this negates the value of insurance to the insured. So don't buy insurance? Nice idea, but the law requires you to buy insurance unless you have millions in a trust fund dedicated to the possibility of an accident. Of course, all this is *my* fault. Never mind that it was all done in regulations - nothing we, or even members of congress, could have voted on - or even knew about. But you would have found a way to anticipate it, and a work-around that would work for you and anyone with your special talent. Can't let the solution get around, though. If too many people are in on the deal it won't work for those who know. -- Regards, Pete http://pete-theisen.com/ http://elect-pete-theisen.com/ _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[email protected] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
