Hi Leland,

The war on poverty is over. Poverty won.

The poor PEOPLE lost, though. Nowadays if you are poor you are a "whiny 
liberal". Never mind that it is the great wealth of a few that *causes* 
the poverty of many.

I agree with those who such as John Kenneth Galbraith when they say that 
"trickle down" is a fallacy and the real idea is "pass through". 'If you 
feed the horse enough oats, some will pass through to the road for the 
sparrows.'

So we poor are to pick through whatever the rich discard? I guess.
