I totally oppose the death penalty, but for the purpose of this argument it is clearly obvious that the difference in the 'crime' between USA and Iran is quite different. But it allows us to somehow defend the death penalty in the USA simply because it appears 'more just' which is a repugnant argument. The death penalty is wrong regardless of the crime.
