Hi Paul, Were I governor I would strike a deal with everyone on death row. In return for a commutation to life in prison in maximum security I would sign a warrant for immediate execution that would be stayed as long as the condemned person never sought release other than for positive proof such as DNA or another's confession to the particular offense the convict had been convicted of. If any appeal for other than these reasons would be sought the warrant, and the convict, would be immediately executed. The idea of the death penalty is to protect society from someone who might murder again. If there arises positive proof that the person did not murder in the first place, well . . . On the other hand, as punishment - it is too easy. Way too easy. -- Regards, Pete http://pete-theisen.com/ http://elect-pete-theisen.com/ _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[email protected] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
