I live in Las Vegas. Sony has a very elaborate installation at the MGM Grand Studio Walk. They have a 3D setup that you can watch and signup for a free home theater, etc. etc. They are supposedly showing their best 3D movies. It certainly is 3D, but it is not anything like going to the movies.
Sony also has a company store on the ground level near the Las Vegas Blvd entrance at the Caesars Palace Forum Shops. You can self-park at the Mirage and walk over there - much closer than self-parking at Caesar's Palace. I watched it for awhile and even played with the 3D games. Maybe I am too old to see the value. Personally I would not pay $50 dollars more to have that over a regular HD set. In fact, if I could not turn off the 3D and I had to wear those glasses, I would not take it home for free. I have not looked at other 3D TV's such as the Samsung other people have mentioned. Maybe it is better. I have some Samsung displays and they are very good quality. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Allen" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, November 12, 2010 6:20 PM Subject: Re: [NF] General opinions of flat-screen HDTVs? Yes I bought one. And they work fine in 2-D too but twice the refresh rate and very clear. Not having really looked at HD before maybe I'm overwhelmed but I am impressed. As for 3-D, I saw avatar in 3-D IMAX at the cinema and thought it was fantastic. But I'm a normal joe not a film buff. So far though, only a few dvd's exist in 3D. Most of which are more like the films made for IMAX, more like I have 3-D so I will make a film rather than a good film in 3-D. Grand canyon adventure comes to mind. Nice to see but not really a film. Al PS I will be out of contact for a week as Im heading north to sunshine coast from Melbourne where I am at the moment. -----Original Message----- From: Jeff Johnson Sent: Saturday, November 13, 2010 11:43 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [NF] General opinions of flat-screen HDTVs? I've updated five fpd, clipper applications in the last month that yielded me quite a nice little income. So, yeah. foxpro for dos is fine! ;^) In all seriousness, have you looked at 3d tv?
