I would only buy into a camera with interchangeable lenses now, or again.

Nikon, Cannon, the list goes on.

The body can get replaced and the investment in optics stays with you
over the long haul.

I have Film bodies that I never touch anymore.  Nikon F and a few
lenses to get me by.  Sold off most of my collection over the years
when I never used it.  Motor drive base was fun but expensive to
process and then look through a hundred contacts of images that all
looked the same.
