Hey there folks,

I had this problem here with my work PC yesterday. I keep the PC on for
weeks - since I am always working on multiple things - and I like to be
able to go back in time in my VFP Command window to re-open prior
programs and screens and such...

Well, I came in yesterday morning - and hitting Ctrl-alt-Del would NOT
work. I could NOT login. So - my Tech guy here just hit the Power button
to power down. But, upon rebooting - it wanted to run ChkDsk - which I
stopped it from doing (it would take too long - and I needed to get back
to work). So - yesterday - I had this one folder on my PC that I could
not access - and it claimed it had problems. Then - before leaving work
last night - I did a ReStart - so that it would run ChkDsk over night.
When I got in this morning - it was done - and I could log in. HOWEVER -
this one Folder is GONE!

Problem is - it's a CRITICAL Folder for me! I had a LOT of my own stuff
in there (graphics that I do during my lunch times - and even all my
stuff for my eCommerce sites and work that I do on them). However, I
also have a bunch of work stuff in there. Small programs that I have
created in the past - to fix data problems for clients. Little tools
that I create and give to the QA Tech support guys here. But, worst of
all - this TimeTracking SW that all the QA Techs and Outsourcing people
use here - to generate and log their daily slipsheets - it's a small
system I wrote. Its on the Network - but, the last bunch of development
for it was done on my C: drive. I actually did it that was because of a
problem I was having a while back - which I reported here - and found
the only solution at the time was to work on the project on my C: drive.

So - I am curious if anyone has any suggestions for me. Like good
programs that I could use to scan my HD and try to recover files. I
would prefer Free - or Trial versions - since they are too cheap here to
actually BUY SW!

Thanks,

 -K-
