I'm a big fan of the black-and-purple LinkSys routers; I've had a
half-dozen in service, and most are running DD-WRT.

You'll want to make sure you buy a Linux-compatible one; Cisco and
LinkSys before them released a couple of "cost-reduced" (i.e., cheaper
for them) models that won't run Linux. See the DD-WRT website for
details.

It does depend on the OP's requirements, too: the LinkSys boxes are
fine for most low-traffic use, but don't hold up as well to intense
throughput needs. I have an old v.2 box I've used for a decade that is
rock-solid, but I've had to discard a couple of other ones that just
were not reliable.

We're running OpenWRT, White Russian, on a Linksys WRTSL54GS and it's
also been working well.

I haven't tried the multiple IP routing, though. We just get by with a
single static IP here and host most of our stuff elsewhere.
