My HP 4200 would not work with Windows. I got in an endless loop of trying to upgrade and I was never able to get the scanner to work. I hooked it directly to Ubuntu and everything worked perfectly from the get go. We print to it from our Mac too. This post was regarding printing to the Ubuntu attached printer from Windows which works perfectly now.
