Not at all man! I ALLWAYS debug from object code, I lllove those ones 
and zeroes! My boss doesn't like my attitude though. He complained about 
the years it takes me to track a problem.

Or.... you might toss java and switch to Python. No needless 
complications there, everything works and interacts in a reasonable way. 
On the down side you might say it encourages unemployment, as you won't 
be willing to hire extra hands to explain what is and should have always 
been obvious.

Agree. But what you overlook, or maybe don't know about open source, is 
that there will always be someone with some extra time or a big itch to 
scratch willing to tweak the code base for you. Or, if the itch is big 
enough, you'll hire someone to tweak it for you. It's called freedom.
