I realize this has gone way OT... last one - promise... Summer after my freshman year at Oregon State I rented a basement room along with a few other guys... one of them was going back to school for some advanced degree in Nuke Engineering and was a former nuke guy in the Navy. Said EVERY SINGLE nuke sub officer had to be approved by Adm. Rickover (or whatever his name was) and he met with them personally in his office. One of his questions was "do or say something to make me mad"... most guys balked... this guy reached up and with one fell swoop cleared the entire desk off onto the floor...
Rickover said "that made me mad"... <g> Thanks, Matthew Jarvis || Business Systems Analyst IT Department McKenzie-Willamette Medical Center 1460 G Street, Springfield, OR 97477 || Ph: 541-744-6092 || Fax: 541-744-6145 > -----Original Message----- > From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] > On Behalf Of Kurt Wendt > Sent: Tuesday, March 29, 2011 9:15 AM > To: [email protected] > Subject: RE: [NF] Who wants a Nuclear Reactor nearby? > > That's an interesting Tidbit Matthew! > > My late Uncle (passed away a good number of years ago) was the Commander > of one of the very First US Submarines (although - I am not sure if it > was THE First one - although it may have been) - and I was there was he > was commissioned to run it - and all of us kids got to go onboard > (myself, sister & brother & 3 cousins) and we watched the BlackBeards > Ghost movie onboard! > > :-) > -K- > > -----Original Message----- > From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] > On Behalf Of Jarvis, Matthew > Sent: Tuesday, March 29, 2011 11:40 AM > > > -----Original Message----- > > From: [email protected] > [mailto:[email protected]] > > On Behalf Of Jeff Johnson > > Sent: Monday, March 28, 2011 6:27 PM > > To: [email protected] > > Subject: Re: [NF] Who wants a Nuclear Reactor nearby? > > > > I have no intention of trying to change anyone's mind on this topic, > but > > I do have some experience in this area related to FoxPro.
