I "made the jump" starting with RedHat 5.1 in 1998, dabbling through 2001 and going full-time Linux in 2004. I can tell you that, for my experience, dual-boot was the worst of all worlds: I always needed a tool in the other OS. These days, with sufficient hardware, a VM is a good alternative. Both OSes can be available simultaneously. And hardware is relatively cheap. Get a second machine and set it up as Linux exclusively. You don't need to worry about messing up the partition table and making Windows unbootable (or gone.) When you get a task, try to figure it out in Linux, and switch over to your Windows machines if it's not easy and fast enough in Linux. Over time, I'll bet you'll find yourself on Linux more and more... :) -- Ted Roche Ted Roche & Associates, LLC http://www.tedroche.com _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[email protected] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
