You should be more careful about misinformation. Exxon does indeed pay huge amounts of income tax. The gist is that Exxon records taxes as "tax benefits" during the year because they are set aside as an asset. Then at the end of the year or quarterly this account is then paid out as taxes and the "tax benefit" account is depleted. In the web site noted above, the author apologizes for his statements that "tax benefits" are the amount of money that Exxon gets back from the government. In any case Exxon paid out $57 Billion in all kinds of taxes and duties.
