Do clients worry that this could continue in the future? I know they
spend a lot of money for custom SW but when they are bared from using
it because of an update that they cannot control does that somehow
scare off potential new business? Do they tell a friend at a party or
the golf course what a Fup it was. Does that put a marker out there
that Fox is distrusted by antivirus vendors?

I know the vendors are not considering your POV, but does this put
another target on your back because it is out of everyone's control?
