Yes, DTOS() = Date TO String
MySql should be able to interpret the date correctly if it is in a
string of YYYMMDD

This looks like the right solution to try first. I'm not familiar with date
functions so I was at a loss which to use. I'm assuming DTS() means
date-to-string so will mysql convert a string back to a date?

My guess is you should have the date in a format like 'YYYYMMDD' using
DTOS() to get it imported properly (at least using that format in SQL
Server works)

I exported them to delimited text then loaded them to mysql and got
everything but the date. I'm going to try format the export date.
