It was as easy fix after you guys guided me to the right solution. I went into word built a macro and changed the input lines as shown below.
"ALAB",2012-11-17,"W CAROL",0,0,F,6108,"01" No score in the example above game due to hurricane and not rescheduled. No single quotes required (it took 3 tries... this the one that worked) 370 rows in 2 or 3 sec. ... what sweet words Thanks again Gary Jeurink -----Original Message----- From: Gary Jeurink [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Tuesday, October 16, 2012 12:51 PM To: 'ProFox Email List' Subject: RE: from vfp-9 to mysql Wish I knew that ahead of time... I'll try a WORD macro on the existing text file to fix all the dates and then reload (after deleting all the records). In the future, I will want to update the week's games played (scores), and the stats table(that one will be no fun). Right now I keep yr. avg stats. Eventually, I want to keep game by game stats to detect teams getting better or getting worse. I'm going to try format the export date. Don't forget that MySQL takes dates like strings in the format (delimited with single quotes) '20121016' (which is in the YYYYMMDD format). -- Mike Babcock, MCP MB Software Solutions, LLC President, Chief Software Architect http://mbsoftwaresolutions.com http://fabmate.com http://twitter.com/mbabcock16 _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/59947D1E31D242218924239E8B5D6166@OwnerPC ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
