Specifically, pppconf seems to be incomplete. I try to run 'pppconf' as
root and there is no executable. 'locate pppc' finds only manuals.
'capt' finds pppconf and says I already have the most recent version. I
can't apt-get pppconf or pppconfig.
Now, I got pppconfig from a Stormix disk I had, so I can get on line
that way, at least. So why can't i pppconf or pppconfig from Progeny
proper?
BTW, when I didn't find pppconf I tried kppp (I have 2.0.1 installed
through the CDs). kppp wouldn't connect properly (I said dynamic IP and
left as much blank as possible). It found the external modem (actually,
an IDSN faking it), connected, and then connection refused (using PAP).
Using defaults, pppconfig & pon have *never* given me problems. So why
does kppp hate me?
