I expect you're right.

Perusing the Qt documentation, they recommend not trying to use the desktop Qt for phones, and using QtQuick instead, which J doesn't support yet.

And, as you say, the supported events are not documented.

So, I don't think I can do anything to make dissect work better on android.

I think that you need some hand-on experience of using jqt for android to
appreciate the differences between a large screen vs small screen, mouse vs

are physically impossible.

AFAIK Qt documentation does explicitly telling which events are not
supported on android.

Android ui can make use of gestures but they are not (yet?) supported by Qt.

I would like to help on this, but I need info that I don't know how to
get. The main questions have to do the gl2 on android. I don't see any
documentation on this:

1. What gl2 events can be created under android? What user action creates
them?

Also,

2. Is there a generally-accepted way to produce a hover event? Or does
the user have to click something to see a tooltip?

I am totally lost as to how to proceed. I could implement something like,
press PF4 followed by a click to ask for a tooltip, and PF5 followed by a
click to simulate a right-click, and so on, but I don't want to invent a
new user interface, because surely there is some standardization about
this. I just don't know how to find out what is in use.

Some of the issues raised here have to do with the dissect labs. Dissect
supports ctrl-J to advance the lab. If a PFkey would be easier to use, I
could support that too.

On android, usually every form is full-screen, so that desktop
UI is not optimized for running on android. If the lab author
want to continue to use the same wd form without returning to
IDE, he can implement some ui element to call labadvance.

If a wd form is not full screen and something seemed broken,
I would not consider it to be a bug.

I sometimes see the Fn buttons at the same time as dissect displays.
I can press F6 and it furthers the lab.
F1 does nothing.
I can not type anythin in to the term window and the copy/paste does not
work.

wd'smact' will activate and show session Term, this is the same

to a wd form.

I know every little of the IDE itself.

form timers should work but I suspect there are no mmove events
for android. You need to implement an alternative for android UI.

How would the application show the IDE?

In this case it would be nice to be able to go back & forth between the

IDE

and dissect, since dissect is in effect an assistant to the IDE.

Would it be possible for dissect to be put onto a tab in the IDE, as
Ian
suggected a while back?

Do the form timers work on Android? Hover text just requires mmove and
ptimer events.

I am trying to go through the dissect lab on my android.
The lab works fine.
The dissect image displays fine.
Sometimes it takes over parts of the screen and sometimes all of it.
I can get back to the terminal by using the return button a few times

but

then the dissect window is no longer to be found.
I tried to view the wd form but that shows nothing.
This is not a big issue.
I am merely wondering if I should be able to go back and forth.
I can not see how to get the hover text either.
