Hi all !
Eric, since we link the request in this discussion, can I move it when
the discussion is over?
There is a blog at https://erlhelinfotech.wordpress.com/
and a twitter account at https://twitter.com/erlheldata
where this is also discussed.
If we did not care to block the possibility of using tacit-t expressions
and constructs primarily useful within tacit-t expressions from the
tacit-v expressions, would this really be such a big change?
My feeling is a test implementation could be created in some hours or
maybe days. We could then try it out, see if we like it?
If it is not a big code change, but only causes strong feelings, maybe
we should calm those feelings, try to understand the request and have a
factual discussion?
Cheers,
Erling

Erling,
Henry pointed out that in my last para I meant inappropriate rather than
appropriate.
He also pointed out that perhaps we need 2 levels of requests. Those that
are perhaps smaller, better defined, and less ambitious in scope and and
thereby have a better chance of seeing the implemented light of day.
The current page says something about guru evaluation. Perhaps we need
another page for proposals. And then as they are refined and become
appropriate they will be moved to the Requests page by the gurus. Where
gurus is some funny dynamic among several people including those will to do
the actual coding.
Perhaps you would consider creating a wiki page
Interpreter/Requests/Proposals and putting your section there.

Erling,
I have read your proposal briefly. I can't comment on the merit, but I can
definitely clarify that it is not in the spirit of the Interpreter/Requests
page.
That page is for straight forward proposals that are clearly and fairly
completely stated, that extend the language in obvious ways, with clear
benefit, and with minimal controversy. In particular it is for requests
that have a hope of being implemented in a timeline of months/years, not
decades.
Something could come of your ideas, but the Requests page is an
appropriate venue. I suggest you remove it from that page and perhaps start
your own wiki discussion page, or perhaps better yet a blog.

Hi all !
I entered a request for tacit expressions with explicit J syntax.

I use J only for fun so I am not going to finance development, but maybe
others want to. As I see it it would solve most of the problems we struggle
with daily since 20 years or something.
