I have an old piano black PS3 which my wife upgraded to 320GB harddisk. I was able to install Yellow Dog Linux on it and it works. Me and my wife are sponsoring 4 kids through school (not counting our own 2 kids) and having an additional PC (the PS3) really alleviates hair pulling between the kids on who's turn on it on the PC. Unfortunately, the HDMI monitor that is connected to it burnt down (yes ... there was smoke) so until I get another one (a bit expensive ... the cheapest one is around 200USD) were back to kids ticking each other off for the turn on the computer. :P
