I just noticed that some long lines of my message were apparently cut off (this 
is a first).  The message looks good in the sent folder of my webmail client 
though.  So, I am resending it again…

I like the method used by the verb ack to (try to) compute the Ackermann

Yes, I wanted to have a tacit counterpart of do (".).  The pressing reason for 
having apply (128!:2) was to load very large (fixed tacit) verb-level 
one-liners and to call them at runtime by a quantitative trading system (see 2. 
in http://www.jsoftware.com/pipermail/programming/2007-February/005315.html ).
