NB. (and serves as a caution and a hint towards reading)
Of course, while all nilads are pure side-effect (else they'd be nouns), not
all side-effecting definitions are nilads (and some
produce side effects based on their input, which obviously a nilad would never
do).

PS: By the way, I was surfing Wikipedia the other day, and from its article on
arity, I learned a neat synonym for niladic:
medadic.
