Kip, Regarding your desire for a Simple J, I have found that changing the J configuration Display Form into Parens or typing 9!:3]6 makes reading tacit code much simpler by adding parens to the displayed definition. An alternative is to display the verb as follows.
5!:6 <'verbname' I also recall that there may be a way in Windows to display the primitives in text "colors" which signal whether each primitive is a noun, verb, etc. But I do not have a Windows computer.
