Yes, this is a known issue that I had signaled to Sam already. The
system should not be attempting to extract text from images (since
9812226.fig5.ps.gz are essentially figures), but this can be
problematic due to to file extension. Besides checking basename and
extension, the problem can be prevented via techniques like filling
and checking the file status/type (i.e. plot or not).
