After speaking IRL at OR2010, it appears that BibFormat Output Formats can
be used to partially accomplish this, although this is not enough:
* there is no support for defining the format based on the *current*
collection (when a record belongs to multiple collections
* it appears that collection configuration is suitable to be delegated to
curators, and to choose a default format for a collection might be a task
that can be handled directly by the curator. For this, it would be nice to
have such configuration directly into the collection configuration,
together with portalboxes and friends
* to choose the default number of records per collection is not currently
possible, while it would be nice to have (this can be factored out in a
different task)

The default look of this collection
http://ddd.uab.cat/collection/cartells?ln=en should in fact be like
http://ddd.uab.cat/search?ln=en&cc=cartells&p=&f=&action_search=Search&c=cartells&c=&sf=&so=d&rm=&rg=500&sc=1&of=hp
