In Invenio, group administrators can only invite people to join their
groups (this was decided at design time for privacy reasons, and to
avoid people to create groups to spam other users). A group can be
configured in two policies:
"visible and open for new memebers"
"visible but new members need approval"
In both cases, an admin can invite a user to join her group by sending
an invitation through a WebMessage, or by having the user to proactively
search and ask for joining to the group.
In case your group adopts the former policy, as soon as the user request
to join the group she will become member (because she has received an
invitation from you or because she has found the group on her own).
If you selected for your group the latter policy, then what happen is
that a new WebMessage is sent to the admin of the group (i.e. to you),
and the admin can, by then approve or reject the membership of the user
(this regardless if it was the admin herself having sent an invitation
to the user).

Have you tried going to the "Edit members" panel of your group? There
you will have a "Current members" section and in the drop down menu you
will have the list of the current members. Indeed the presentation of
this information can improved...

If you don't see the user in the above mentioned section, then she might
still waiting for approval in the subsequent section?

Hope this help!
