I'd rather say it is "feature frozen", not "unmaintained", because firstly the Solr 3 support coming with Invenio 1.2 is working well and can be used for fulltext indexing in production, and secondly if you try it out and find a problem we'd happily merge a fix. We simply did not proceed with further upgrades to Solr 4 or Solr 5 as per the adoption of Elasticsearch that is now the only IR engine in Invenio 3.0. Best regards -- Tibor Simko
