Refleksi : Kalau tidak keliru oleh MUI telah dikeluarkan Fatwa yang melarang
umat untuk meditasi, tetapi di Bahrain yang islamiah demi kesehatan dibolehkan
melakukan meditasi. Mengapa ada perbedaan?

PEOPLE in Bahrain will have the opportunity to improve their health and
lifestyle through meditation in a first-of-its-kind conference in the region.

The Middle East Meditation Conference will begin on Tuesday at Bahrain
International Exhibition and Convention Centre, Sanabis.

The three-day event, held under the patronage of Deputy Premier Shaikh Khalid
bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, will be on the theme Awakening Your Inner Power and
Potential.

It is organised by Bahrain Meditation Centre for Self Development in
partnership with Bahrain Exhibition and Convention Authority alongside the
Health and Wellness Bahrain Expo that will take place from the same day.

Organisers said that the conference would attract expert speakers and
professionals from Japan, Australia, the US and India among others as well as
participants from across the Middle East.

Workshops will also be held, where participants will have the opportunity to
develop their skills and practise diverse methods of self-improvement that are
on offer.

Bahrain Meditation Centre for Self Development secretary-general Dr Awatif
Sharaf said that the aim of the event was to attract people from all walks of
life.

They will have the opportunity to make positive changes in their lives and
become healthier, happier and better human beings, she added.

"The meditation conference and the expo complement each other very well,
dealing with aspects of physical and mental health," said Dr Sharaf.

"Empowering people to bring out the best in themselves is, I believe, an
invaluable contribution to health and wellness."

It is free and open to the public from 10am to 1pm and 4pm to 9pm on all three
days.

More than 60 international and regional exhibitors have signed up for the first
Health and Wellness Expo.

The event, being held under the patronage of Health Minister Dr Faisal Al
Hamer, will focus on healthy living, nutrition, relaxation, spas, fitness,
medical and alternative medicines.

It also aims to provide business opportunities for companies in the industry.

During the expo, the ministry will also provide visitors with free health
screening, which includes blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol.

The event is being supported by the Industry and Commerce Ministry and Bahrain
Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The registration fee for the conference is BD40 and will open at 7pm on
Tuesday. It will be held from Wednesday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.
