Fidel: I'll die laughing
Havana
September 11, 2011
Former Cuban leader Fidel Castro has said death would not be bad news for him,
dispelling speculation that his health has deteriorated.

''Those rumours make me laugh, as if dying were bad news for me,'' Mr Castro
said in a pre-recorded interview shown on Venezuelan television. ''They think
that's a piece of bad news? When I die, I will get to rest.''

Recent press reports have said Mr Castro's health had deteriorated. According
to one report out of Venezuela, the revolutionary leader has lost consciousness
several times recently and is being treated for an infection.
