These are temporary backups made when files are saved back into the
database.  If the project is in good shape in the database (.DDB) files,
then these backups are redundant, and obsolete, too, as they are backups
of PREVIOUS versions of the work.  You can safely delete them,
unless you want to archive them to tape or a CDROM.  I wish I had
done that on occasion, when a problem showed up, and I wanted to know
when, or how, it got there.
